To add to RT66s RV, mine also has a microwave oven, heater, refrigerator/freezer, a full bathroom, and my very own comfortable bed...and as we are in the 3rd week of a 4 month trip around the country we are most grateful for all of it..

No Fee or Low Fee Camping in Tx, Ok, NM, Ar, La.?
Hi! I am a single mom with 5 kids.. and i have finally worked up the nerve and confidence to buy some camping gear and start taking the kids camping... AND.. its a low cost way to travel. Hotels are very expensive for all of us! Some capsites are expensive though. I paid $35 for a primitive campsite last weekend. Does anyone know of any no-fee or low-fee camping sites in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Lousiana, Arizona, or Colorado? THANKS!

Sonny answers:
$35 for a primitive campsite is robbery! Since you listed so many states I can only give you a general answer. The Forest Service provides campsites usually in the $5-$20 price range but they also allow dispersed camping which means you can camp almost anywhere you want in a National Forest for free.

The Corps has nice campgrounds usually in the $10-$20 range but some of their primitive campgrounds are free. I actually found one the other day that had full hookups and it was free.

BLM land in the western USA I think is all free. Their website stinks but I'll give it to you anyway.

Nancy asks…
what are good sites in central Illinois for tent camping with kids, 5 and 8?
I want to take my niece and nephew, along with my sister and brother in law, tent camping. the kids have done backyard camp outs in a little tent last summer, my sister is not real big on camping and the kids are little. so I need a place with real toilets and showers a playground and possibly a pool or lake for swimming. The problem is so many of the more commercial campgrounds that offer these amenities are geared more towards rv's and aren't particularly tent friendly.I live in Peoria and My sister lives in Bloomington. so that is the region we are looking at

Sonny answers:
Hi!
Shawnee national forest

In Missouri, if you're ever down here, Lake Wappapello has FREE tent camping
no showers & such (there ARE showers & running water for paid tent campers however)
try some of your local parks, too, because a lot of them you can camp in!

Whats the best way to marketing a acting camp geared towards 12-16 year old kids?
It my first year having this camp and my goal is 50 kids. There is a charge for teh camp however we have experienced, professional teachers.

Sonny answers:
Hello. Im 14 years old and i am currently looking for a summer camp.( i know its late) i love acting and most of the camps cost so much. Can you sent me a website. I love acting and since you need actors i would love to be one. Also make sure you make a website if you dont have one or else it wont seem legit. I hope your camp works. And god bless.

Susan asks…
Sister pawns off kids?
My older sister has a tendency to pawn her kids off on other family members so she can spend time with her fiance alone. She does this ALL the time (for days at a time, on a weekly basis). She doesnt spend much time with her kids let alone plan things to do with the kids. My husband and I had planned a camping trip with our kids (we are leaving tomorrow). I invited my other sister and her kids, which are coming. My sister who pawns her kids off was supposed to drop her kids off today with their dad for the next month. Well plans changed, and they are staying with her this week. I get a call today saying that her kids want to go camping with us (but she doesnt want to) and did we have room in the car... honestly, no. We have a sedan, 2 kids, and a dog to cram in with all our camping gear. I feel bad for the kids because they never get to do much of anything, so i agree'd I could fit one in the car (her son decided to go to a friends house for a few nights). On top of it, she informs me she has no money, cant supply any food, has no sleeping bag, and no life jacket (we're camping right off a river). I told her I could cover the food and dig up an old sleeping bag, but she had to supply a life jacket because I wasnt going to let kids in the water without one. Im alittle irritated about the whole situation. We now have to find someone to watch out dog because we cant fit him in the car. Im the most irritated by the fact that she never seems to want to spend time with her kids. I spoke with my other sister who says I should have said no her daughter couldnt go with us, and that she needs to spend time with her children, but I just feel awful for my neice. Should I have a talk with my sister, or just leave it alone? My mother and my other sister have both tried talking to her but nothing seems to get through to her, but her children are loosing out in the end.

Sonny answers:
I too have a sister that is very similar to this. She is the youngest sister in our family and I am the oldest. She has 2 children as well one boy and one girl and doesnt have custody of either one. When the kids do get to come around and spend time with the family she automatically thinks that we should all pay for whatever they do since they are't around most of the time. Well guess what we do it because we feel sorry for them. No matter what we ever say to her about it she never changes. She doesn't even work. So, I guess we just keep doing it becuase we don't want the kids to suffer becuase of her. I understand what you are feeling, but I guess what I'm saying is I will just keep doing it for the kids so that they know that someone does care enough about them.
